The First Notes
The New Orleans Volunteer Orchestra (NOVO) was created in March of 2012 by two young and aspiring conductors from Loyola University. Since its inception, NOVO has exploded into the largest community orchestra in the region, featuring a full orchestra of over 65 musicians. NOVO thrives on excitement, performing all types of music from the classical symphonies to movie and video game soundtracks. To hear our recordings, click here
NOVO has been featured on many news outlets including WWL-TV, WGNO, News With a Twist, Good Morning New Orleans, WDSU-TV and NOA-TV. NOVO has been featured in many publishings in The Advocate, The Gambit, Times Picayune, Uptown Messanger, and more. We have an incredibly diverse musical ensemble, from professional musicians, to doctors, lawyers, florists, carpenters, teachers, students; anyone is welcome in our ensemble.
